Bulldog families, getting ready for a season starts before the first whistle! Along with the hard work our athletes put in, there is an important step every family needs to complete: DragonFly registration and required athletic paperwork.
Every student-athlete competing for an Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) member school must have eligibility information submitted through DragonFly. That includes our Holtville Bulldogs, whichever sport they play.
What is DragonFly?
DragonFly is the online platform used to organize athletic registration, eligibility information and required documents. Parents and guardians can connect with their child’s school, complete forms and track what still needs attention—all in one place.
How to get started
- Visit dragonflymax.com. Select Login / Sign-up. Returning families should sign in to their existing account.
- Connect with the school. Follow the parent/guardian setup prompts and select the correct Holtville school in Alabama. Ask your coach if you need help choosing the school or team.
- Add or review your athlete. Make sure your child is connected to the correct school and select the appropriate school year and sports.
- Complete the paperwork. From your athlete’s tile, choose Submit Paperwork or View Details, then Get Ready. Follow the prompts for every required item.
- Check for approval. Review the status of each item and respond to anything that needs correction.
What paperwork should families prepare?
Follow the checklist shown in your athlete’s DragonFly account and the instructions from the school. AHSAA eligibility documentation includes:
- A certified birth certificate.
- A current, signed AHSAA Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Form.
- Concussion information/history documentation.
- The student release/consent form.
- Sudden cardiac arrest awareness documentation.
- NFHS Sportsmanship course completion documentation.
The sportsmanship course is a one-time requirement during the student’s AHSAA school career. A current signed physical is required for tryouts and practice. Review returning athletes’ records each school year and update any expired or requested items.
Submitted does not always mean approved
Pending Approval means a document still needs school review. DragonFly shows 100% complete and Ready to play when required registration items are complete and current, but families should confirm participation clearance with the coach or athletic department.
AHSAA also requires a student’s name to be entered in DragonFly and certified by the principal at least two days before competing. Athletes must meet all eligibility rules regardless of the status displayed in the software.
Take care of it early, Bulldogs!
Please review your athlete’s account well before the season begins. Leaving time for missing signatures, document corrections and school review can help prevent a last-minute delay.
If you have questions about Holtville registration, school selection or a document awaiting approval, contact your head coach or the school’s athletic department. For account and technical help, visit the DragonFly resources below.
